Itinerary
| 10:00 | Welcome tea and coffee. |
| 10:15 | Formal welcome and overview of the day's activities. |
| 10:20 | History of topiary and plant varieties used. |
| 10:30 | Topiary theory. |
| 11:00 | Instructor demonstration - basic shape |
| 11:15 | Hands on practice creating a basic topiary shape. Photos. |
| 11:45 | Instructor demonstration - Spiral. Photos. |
| 12:00 | Hands on practice creating a spiral. (Yours to take home) |
| 12:30 | Lunch (Not provided) |
| 13:15 | Plant selection for more complex topiary. |
| 13:30 | Introduction of new tools and equipment. |
| 13:35 | Instructor demo in selecting a suitable plant and creating a more complex shape such as an animal. |
| 14:00 | Students to think about what they would like to create and select appropriate bush to shape. |
| 14:15 | Start shaping. |
| 14:30 | Tea/coffee break. |
| 14:45 | Continue with topiary shape (Yours to take home) If you finish your piece of topiary and would like to create more, you can purchase additional plants to shape. (These plants will be at additional cost, and will vary depending on size.) |
| 16:00 | Chance to view the nursery stock and make any additional purchases |
Additional Information
| Lunch: | Lunch is not provided, so we would advise you on bringing a packed lunch. Alternatively there is a public house approximately 1 mile away. |
| Weather: | In the event of rain, classes will be held under cover. |
| Tools: | You are welcome to bring your own tools, but tools will be provided by us for use during the course. |
| What to Bring: | As previously mentioned you should bring a packed lunch, tools if you wish to use your own and a waterproof jacket for selecting plants in the rain. |
| Upon reserving a place we will require a non-refundable deposit of £25.00 per person, with the balance of £70.00 payable on the day. As stated above, we will run the courses with a mnimum of 4 persons, if the course on which you are booked is under subscribed we will contact you 1 week prior to the course and your deposit will be refunded in full. |
