Buxus Cones

Cone (Buxus sempervirens)

Description

Common box is the most widely used for all topiary due to its dark green dense foliage. Cones are available from 30cm to 180cm in height and various diameters. |

Cone ('Marginata')

Description

'Marginata' has a looser habit than the sempervirens and has a gold margin around each leaf. |

Cone ('Elegantissima')
|
Description

Another variegated variety; 'Elegantisima' is a slow grower, therfore not many large cones would be available. It can form quite a dense cone but the light colouring of the foliage gives the impression of a looser shape. |

Cone ('Obelisk')

Buxus sempervirens 'Obelisk' forms a lovely cone due to its erect nature. When clipped it keeps a very neat shape whilst being quie dense. Available from 90cm-180cm. |

Bay Cones

Laurus nobilis, more commonly known as Bay is suitable for basic topiary shapes such as balls, cones and standards. Due to the size of the leaves they look better as larger pieces. We have cones available from 90cm upwards. |

Taxus baccata is good for most shaped topiary especially when it is a big and simple shape. Available in a number of sizes. |

Ilex auqifolium can be used to produce a relatively loose cone, with the red fruits addind a seasonal interest. |
